I prefer buying things in stores, although the internet has come in quite handy over the years. It seems that every town or city has two or three specialty shops that outshines all the others. In Charleston, I think of Worthwhile, or even Robot Candy - both downtown on King Street. Across the river here in Mount Pleasant, I find Coastal Cupboard equally intoxicating. Yeah, we have Brookstone and Williams Sonoma, but there is a good chance that you have one as well.
I'm hoping to have the luxury to take a week or two and travel to some destinations and come across those unexpected, unique retailers. The tour would be part research/inspiration, and part Kebo marketing. We'll call it the Kebo Tour. Like Guy Fieri highlights those unique restaurants on the Food Network, I hope to highlight those equally intriguing retailers along my route. The map below shows my rough intended path, so I'd love to hear from anyone who can suggest these sort of places in your town. Catching up with some old friends along the way would be a bonus, so I hope to hear from you.
