"Amazingly Awesome" Clemson Wind Turbine Test Facility through the eyes of a future engineer

How do you explain the magnitude of Clemson University winning a Department of Energy grant competition to design and build a Drive Train Wind Turbine Test Facility, executing it pretty much in your backyard, and thus providing global companies the ability to test their new turbine technology to your 11 year-old-lego-boss-turning-future-engineer son? You bring him there.

Thanks to the Charleston chapter of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers I was able to do just that.  SME has a simple but profound mission:  to advance manufacturing and attract future generations.  Judging by Rush4's reaction during the tour of what is now called the SCE&G Energy Innovation Center, the latter was definitely achieved.

One of the discussions yesterday was about STEM (Science, Technology Engineering, Math) including the arts to make STEAM.  We liked the design order, layout and colors used on the electrical side of the operation.
